What will the future hold for all of us?

I have new found respect for forester’s and elders. As the next most senior that is city educated, I have to study and imbibe other tasks that were left in my care. I have to check on other community members who shy away with the current fast movement of commercialism that is overtaking their land. They are getting further and deeper in the forest. It is my job to educate the children so that they will be aware of what is going on outside the community perimeter. I have to understand each role of plants and fauna, all living creatures. Even help with birds and other animals that is being displaced with roads leading to resorts of land grabbers.

I am considered with healing hands by the people in the mountain so even a bird is given to me for treatment. Dogs and cats and even baby goats. I draw the line with serpents though. Being a trained first aider, I do have some basic knowledge in treating wounds, and I appreciate what the elders have taught me about herbology. The children now a days are very dependent on modern doctors that they are no longer interested to learn how the plants can help them with their aches.

I hope to influence them to go back to the basics.
